What are cookies?

Analytics (with your consent)
With Google Analytics 4 we measure, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how often, where visitors come from and which devices they use. The Google Analytics code is loaded on every page but stays switched off until you consent: it sets no cookies and sends no measurement data to Google. When the code is downloaded from Google’s servers, your IP address is sent to Google. Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off; the data is not used for advertising.

External content (with your consent)
Some pages contain Google Maps maps and YouTube videos, the Maps page contains an OpenStreetMap map, and the Climate and Vegetation page shows the current weather. None of these is loaded without your consent; maps and videos are replaced by a short note and a “show” button, and the weather section is not shown at all. When they are loaded:
- Google Maps and YouTube (Google) receive your IP address and browser information and may set their own cookies (e.g.
NID,YSC,VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE). Google decides their purpose and duration: How Google uses cookies. - OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation): map images are downloaded from the foundation’s servers, which receive your IP address; no cookies are set. OpenStreetMap privacy policy.
- Open-Meteo: weather data is fetched from Open-Meteo’s servers, which receive your IP address; no cookies are set. Open-Meteo terms and privacy.
The site uses no advertising or social media cookies. The Facebook and Instagram icons are plain links; nothing is sent to those sites unless you click them. The site’s fonts are also served from our own server.
Personal data processed, purpose and legal basis
- Strictly necessary: no personal data. Used only so that the site works as you asked.
- Analytics: online identifier (cookie ID), IP address, pages visited, browser and device information, approximate location (city, country). Processed to measure and improve how the site is used, based on your explicit consent (KVKK Art. 5(1)).
- External content: IP address and browser information. Sent to the service provider so that maps, videos and the weather forecast can be shown, based on your explicit consent (KVKK Art. 5(1)).
This data is collected electronically and automatically through cookies.
Transfers
Data collected in the analytics and external content categories is sent to the service providers Google, the OpenStreetMap Foundation and Open-Meteo and may be processed on their servers outside Türkiye. This only happens for the categories you allow.
Server logs
The server hosting the site keeps standard access logs (IP address, date and time, requested address, browser information) for security and technical operation. These logs are processed on the basis of legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)); they are not cookies and are not affected by your cookie choice.
How to change your choice
On your first visit, the banner offers “Accept all”, “Reject” and “Preferences”. You can change your decision at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page or the button at the top of this page. If you withdraw consent, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted and embedded content is removed. Your choice is kept for 12 months and then asked again.
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block local storage, your choice cannot be remembered and the banner will appear on every page.
Your rights under KVKK
Under Article 11 of KVKK you may apply to the data controller to:
- learn whether your personal data is processed,
- request information if it has been processed,
- learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly,
- know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred,
- request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate,
- request its erasure or destruction under the conditions of Article 7 of KVKK,
- request that correction, erasure or destruction be notified to the third parties to whom it was transferred,
- object to a result against you arising from analysis exclusively by automated systems,
- claim compensation if you suffer damage because of unlawful processing.
You can send your application in writing to İsabey Mh. 2006 Sk. No: 3/D Selçuk/İzmir, Türkiye, or with a secure electronic signature to info@selcukticaretodasi.org.tr, in line with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller. Under Article 13 of KVKK, your application will be concluded within thirty days at the latest.
