The Selçuk Lake Gebekirse Waterfowl Protection and Breeding Area covers a thousand hectares north of the Ancient City of Ephesus, between Ephesus and Pamucak. In this marshy area, where the Küçük Menderes River flows into the sea north of the Pamucak shore, there are several small ponds and reed beds, home to 30–40 species of birds and mammals. For migratory birds, it serves more as a stopover and shelter than as a nesting site.

Lake Belevi: The largest lake in the Küçük Menderes basin, it is home to about 12 species of fish, including mullet, mirror carp and eel, and to 26 bird species that vary from season to season.
